Opera Mini 4:What they have to offer?

Finally, the new Opera mini 4 is out now after series of three betas.

Its rendering engine is same as of Opera 9.5 desktop browser but yet this has a size of only 100kb. To make the Opera mini 4 more powerful, many new features have been added and for this they rewrote the entire code!

Take a look of what’s NEW in the Opera mini 4…..
1- There is a support for “Opera link”, through which you can synchronize, share bookmarks and “Speed Dial” with the Opera browser on your PC.

2- With the help of new rendering architecture, you are able to view the webpages on your phone just like the PC. When a webpage first gets loaded , the browser shows you an overview snapshot of the page; then by using the mouse cursor you can zoom in to the desired region of the webpage.

3- The browser best fits to the size of the text on webpages to fit the width of your phone screen, which frees you from scrolling horizontally.

4- By pressing key number 1, you have a context menu, from that menu you can change the viewing modes to ‘Mobile view’, reload the page, and show webpage information. When the mouse cursor is focused on a link, the menu will show you the link information. Moreover, mouse cursor makes it much easy to scroll on the page and clicking on the links.

5- Here are some shortcut keys for your ease.
2 – Page up
8 - Page down
4 – Go to the left one column
6 – Go to the right one column
5 – Zoom in/out

Here are some of additional features listed:
I- Switching the page view to landscape mode is easy, * and # are its shortcut keys.
II- The browser supports HTML tables, CSS handheld stylesheets and advanced support for the CSS.
III- There’s a support for bi-directional text.
IV- Support for small anti-aliased bitmap fonts.
V- Setup process is simple and easy.
VI- Image quality has been improved.
VII- Menu added of native blackberry.
VIII- Dialogs are displayed with alpha channel overlay windows and round corners.
IX- Improved server side cookie handling.

  9. Tech Roach says:

Just wait till Google Android gets here. Its gonna bash Opera in the nose. The fact that Firefox has more star-power compared to Opera would help.

Anyway, I like Opera on my mobile but definitely not on the PC.
