Introducing Rollip, a start-up, online tool aka Web App, which lets you put about 40 different effects and styles on your images without installing any software or learning anything new, just select a style, upload your picture and wallah – though you will need to pay a little extra fee if you want the effect in high resolution, but the preview is still adequately big enough.

I was amazed by the simplicity this site offers, just sign-up (a  2 line form) and you are all setup create some remarkable pictures out of your ordinary shots. After logging-in there is nothing distracting, except 4 effects to chose from and a set of next/previous buttons to navigate through the effects, select the one you like, upload your picture and get yourself a stylized picture. There are so many sites from where you can download twitter patterns, but the one I am writing about is TwitterPatterns. What so special about this site is the ‘freemium’ quality of the patterns i.e. premium quality patterns for free!

Applying the patterns to your twitter page is very easy. Just follow these simple steps:

1- Go to TwitterPatterns and download a pattern of your choice by clicking it

2- Log into your twitter account (if you haven’t already)

3- Go to Settings>>Design

4- Click on Change background image

5- Browse for a downloaded image, and tick on the tile background option, click save changes

As most of you know about and many might have learned something from a wide range of How-To guides at eHow, there is still one thing I think some of you might not know yet, that eHow through their Writers Compensation Program pays writers who publish their articles there. The medium used for payments is PayPal.

Some percent of the money generated from ads on the publisher’s article page gets is paid to him. What that percentage is? Well, I don’t know, it is something private to eHow.

The thing about such a writing idea that appealed me is that many who have some articles published on eHow still had potential earnings when they were not writing anything. That’s the lucrative aspect of working with websites like eHow, as thousands of millions of people keep on visiting such guiding sites, each article surely gets some portion of that much traffic.

Here you have the freedom to write on topics you know best, and whenever you have your leisure time out of your daily routine schedule, that’s pretty much like the goodies of blogging plus the goodies of writing for a big name (eHow) in the shape of passive income you get continually when you are busy for days on some other of your projects. Moreover, you get yourself escaped from the issues related with blog management, social marketing etc.

If you think you have the ability to write but don’t have a blog (or a momentum-less one) and are in search of some source to monetize your skill, you should definitely give eHow a try. If you are thinking to start with eHow, keep in mind that it takes a sufficient number of articles to work significantly.

There are 23 educational institution channels right now in YouTube EDU. 21 of which are from US, one from Australia (unsw) and another one from India (nptelhrd). Nptelhrd of Indian IITs has most videos in its channel with the figure of 3589 as of today with uctelevision coming next having 3164 videos.

Speaking personally, I will say something about nptelhrd, since I have benefited a lot watching some of their videos but particularly related to Electronics. To my experience, their Professors’ explanation techniques are just remarkable. With them complex concepts just get understandable. If you are having troubles understanding your class lectures I recommend you to must check this channel out, you will definitely find something for you there.

This step forward from YouTube must be appreciated as it is in great agreement in assisting masses to have access to quality education but as I read in a blog that there are channels that are not presently included in YouTube EDU and have educational videos. YouTube needs to deal with this issue to make its initiative having its full impact to be felt.

Actually, PeoplePond is a combination of DandyID and Weavemet, both from the same company, Cranberry led by David McInnis (founder of PRWEB).

PeoplePond definition, in their own words is: “PeoplePond provides the tools needed to take ownership of your online identity and reputation management by creating a search engine optimized online profile promoting your online identity and content.”

It compiles everything about one’s online identity in one place. Your Tweets, feeds, contact information, different social services you use and propagate it all over the internet through its ADAM(AutoDiscovery About Me) API.

There is also a Wordpress plugin available which fetches your info from PeoplePond and displays it into your About page, so you don’t have to rewrite.

I have found this service unique of its kind, as it focus on an individual’s online profile, to put it simply.
