Use Del.icio.us The StumbleUpon Way

Today I am going to share with you a very cool trick through which you will surely become addicted to del.icio.us. For those who don’t know what del.icio.us is, let me inform you that del.icio.us is a popular social bookmarking tool which lets us save and share bookmarks in a social way. That is why it is called a social bookmarking site and not just bookmarking. In this trick I am going to show you how you can add a bookmarklet of delicious in Firefox [which will show random bookmarks as per topic]. So we need three things to start.
i-Mozilla Firefox Browser
ii-A delicious account [If you dont have, make one from here]
iii-Five minutes of your time
Lets start the process:
1-Open Firefox, and enable bookmarks toolbar if it is not enabled already. Go to View>>Toolbars>>Bookmarks Toolbar and check it to enable bookmarks toolbar.
2-Sign into your del.icio.us account, and go to popular bookmarks page. In the right hand side, you will see some of the popular tags listed like CSS, Photography, Programming etc. Now all you have to do is to select a tag. For example I selected CSS for now.
3-Now I am on a page which url is http://delicious.com/popular/css. Now go to Bookmarks>>Organize Bookmarks and Create a new bookmark here. Name it CSS Random or any thing you like as it doesn’t matter much.
4-Now come to Location Box and enter http://delicious.com/popular/css?random=1. Notice what I just added to the already given url is ?random=1 which calls random websites from del.icio.us bookmarks list. When the bookmark is added, drag it from your Bookmarks Library to Bookmarks Toolbar.
5-Congrats! you have just created a random del.icio.us bookmark which will show interesting websites and blogs consisting of CSS topic every time you click on it.
Similarly, you can also use http://delicious.com/tag/css?random=1 and http://delicious.com/recent/css?random=1 to browse whole or only recent content from CSS topic respectively. This is just one bookmark, now go and create some more bookmarks consisting of your favorite topics. Remember to include tag from only popular tags or you will end up on a Yahoo home Page.
Surely, it does not have liking and disliking function and recommendation engine like StumbleUpon, but atleast you are visiting user submitted bookmarks which opens up another level of excitement [at least for me and from today, I am going to use delicious regularly ;)]
