Domain name: Why should you own it?

Domain name and hosting are just like a door and a house respectively. Both of them are equally important as you can’t live in a house which has no door and similarly, you are not crazy enough to own only a door without a house :D. In this post, I will highlight the main reasons, why one should have to have a domain name. Why to own a domain name?
The main reason to get your domain name is to own a key where you are living on the web. When you are on a subdomain, your value is no more than a guest and you cannot get much flexibility as a owner would have. Whether it is blog, image gallery, corporate website or forum, owning a domain name makes you a real player and people will notice your brand through your domain name.
The main points justifying of owning a domain name are these:
1-Google will rank your page high in their search index if you own a domain.
2-People will not ignore you as a “kid” or a noob and think of you as a “professional” :D.
3-Paid hosting and domain name gives you the extensibility to use Mysql, Php and others which you can’t expect in a free service.
4-When you tell somebody about your blog/site, they can remember what address you have for a long time!. And if you tell your friend that your address is http://xyz-free-123-wares.blogspot.com, they will forget this the next day [They can remember this if they take almonds regularly :D].
5-If you are on a subdomain, You have to follow their certain rules and regulations and can’t upload certain files if they won’t allow. You know you are not a slave!
6-Take this example:”You came to my blog and you saw my banner heading named Gurupedia. You had forgot my blog address after a week or so but you want to come again [Thanks!]. Guess what will you do?. You will search for “gurupedia” on google but whats that?!. It will take you to the another site that will not be a Gurupedia tech blog!”…
7-In domain, you can create subpages and subdomains tailored to your needs i.e., advertising page, contact page and “abc.yourdomain.com”. In subdomains you can’t create subpages and I hope that you will not ever want to create subdomain within a subdomain.
By those all points I have clarified that if you are serious into blogging [or some other activity for which you have a website] then custom domain should be your first choice[You know everyone is not as lucky as Amit]
From where to buy a domain name?

This is a good question you may ask. There are hundreds of companies offering domain names and hosting but I will prefer Top Hosting Center. The reason is that they are offering top-notch and reliable service for only 4.95$/mo. which is a way less expensive than other quality hosting services. It means that now you can get world class service with less pressure on your pocket [Yay!].
